Visiting Neighbors, Inc. a nonprofit organization, enables individuals, ages 60 Centenarian plus, to remain independent, active, as healthy and safe as possible, connected to others, and in their own cherished homes. Through programs of neighbors helping neighbors, volunteers, supported by professional staff, help older adults alleviate loneliness and isolation, provide mental stimulation and emotional security, share information about wellness & health related concerns (mental, physical and emotional) & encourage physical independence & quality of life at home, as well as encourages interdependence so that mutual learning and understanding bring generations together to share life experiences and gain respect for each persons' uniqueness. Visiting Neighbors champions the power of the volunteer, intergenerational engagement and promotes a positive acceptance of life after sixty and the value of the elderly in society.
