THE WILMETTE POLICE BENEVOLENT FUND ("THE CORPORATION") WAS CREATED TO RAISE FUNDS AND PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO EMPLOYEES OF THE WILMETTE POLICE DEPARTMENT; THEIR FAMILIES IN EVENTS OF CRISIS, HARDSHIP, OR CELEBRATION; AND TO PROVIDE DONATIONS OF FUNDS TO SELECTED CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS SERVING THE WILMETTE COMMUNITY AND PUBLIC SAFETY PROFESSIONALS. EVERY ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEE IS ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES OF THE FUND, INCLUDING THOSE DESIGNED TO PRODUCE FUNDS NECESSARY FOR THE OPERATION OF THE FUND. THE CORPORATION, BEING ORGANIZED EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHARITABLE, AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES, MAY MAKE DISTRIBUTIONS TO ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS IN FURTHERANCE OF ITS CORPORATE PURPOSES AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE.
