THE CERTIFICATE OF INCORPORATION OF THE WINTER HAVEN HOSPITAL AUXILIARY STATES THE GENERAL NATURE AND OBJECT OF THE AUXILIARY SHALL BE TO RENDER ANY ASSISTANCE TO THE HOPTIAL WHICH MAY LIE WITHIN ITS POWERS. THE CURRENT BYLAWS PROHIBIT IT FROM ENGAGING IN ANY ACTIVITY NOT PERMITTED TO BE CARRIED ON BY A CORPORATION EXEMPT FROM FEDERAL INCOME TAX UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE. THE AUXILIARY CONSISTS OF VOLUNTEER MEMBERS AND MEMBERSHIP IS OPEN TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN WINTER HAVEN HOSPITAL. THE PRIMARY BUSINESS FUNCTION OF THE AUXILIARY IS THE OPERATION OF GIFT SHOPS AT THE HOSPITAL FACILITIES FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF HOSPITAL EMPLOYEES, PATIENTS, AND VISITORS. INCOME FROM THIS ACTIVITY IS DONATED TO WINTER HAVEN OR WINTER HAVEN HOSPITAL FOUNDATION, AN AFFILIATED SUPPORTING ORGANIZATION OF THE HOSPITAL. AUXILIARY MEMBERS PROVIDE MANY TYPES OF ASSISTANCE TO THE HOSPITAL INCLUDING OPERATING AN INFORMATION DESK FOR VISITORS, REGISTERING PEOPLE FOR COMMUNITY OUTREACH
