ACTIVE LIFESTYLE EVENTS INC

Mission

To receive and administer funds for scientific, educational, civic, athletic, patriotic, cultural, social, and charitable purposes, and to more specifically encourage and foster active lifestyles. The primary activity has been the Joplin Memorial Run held each May, and has included a half-marathon, 5K run and kids run in honor of the 161 victims of the May 22, 2011 tornado in Joplin, MO. To date, proceeds in excess of $300,000 has been contributed to local 501 (c) 3 organizations. Active Lifestyle Events will rebrand in 2025 and will continue to encourage and support programs which improve the health and well-being of members of our community yet not forget those lost in 2011. In 2022 a permanent 17-foot sculpture was created in honor of the 161 victims. In 2024 this permanent monument was donated, to another local 501 (c) 3 organization for long-term care as it is constructed on their property. 2025 will be a year of rebranding and moving forward with the mission.
