TO REPRESENT THE ARCHDIOCESE OF NEW YORK AND THE DIOCESE OF BROOKLYN BY FOCUSING ON LOCAL LEGISLATIVE, POLITICAL AND POLICY ISSUES AFFECTING BOTH DIOCESES IN NEW YORK CITY. WORKING WITH THE NEW YORK CITY COUNCIL, THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR AND NEW YORK CITY AGENCIES, CCRC INITIATES AND INFLUENCES CITY POLICY AND LEGISLATION ON BEHALF OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH'S CORE MISSION. THESE INCLUDE SUCH PRIORITIES AS EDUCATION, HUMAN SUPPORT SERVICES, AFFORDABLE HOUSING, LAND USE POLICY AND MANDATE RELIEF. THE INTENDED RESULT IS TO NOT ONLY MEET THE NEEDS OF THE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY, BUT TO ALSO CONTRIBUTE TO THE COMMON GOOD AND WELFARE OF ALL RESIDENTS OF NEW YORK CITY.
