CHESAPEAKE HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAM, INC. (CHEP) IS A 501 (C)(3) ORGANIZATION THAT HAS A DUAL MISSION OF PROVIDING TRANSITIONAL HOUSING THROUGH VETERAN-ONLY PROGRAMS AND HOSTING AFFORDABLE, HIGH QUALITY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS IN HARFORD AND CECIL COUNTIES AS WELL AS THE SURROUNDING COUNTIES AND STATES. WE HAVE FOUND OURSELVES WITH THIS UNIQUE PURPOSE, BASED ON AN ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY OF PROVIDING CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS SERVING THE VETERAN COMMUNITY. AT THE SAME TIME, A NEED WAS DISCOVERED TO PROVIDE TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR HOMELESS VETERANS. IT WAS DECIDED THAT CHEP WOULD UTILIZE FUNDS EARNED BY PROVIDING CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMMING TO FINANCIALLY SUPPORT THE VETERAN TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM.
