We are a broad -based community grass roots organization with numerous programs. For example, we personally represent residents of ward 4 weekly in housing court, verify housing code enforcement and conditions of housing stock. We also aid foreclosed upon/evicted residents and facilitate street clean-ups. We give informal art classes, sewing classes and cooking and computer classes. We help with resume writing and notary services to those in the neighborhood that need it. We are an open door for troubled youth and families in need of food, clothing, or a place to feel safe. We have a community garden and supply fresh produce to residents. We also educate residents in pending legislation and urban planning. We run several week-long summer camps for elementary school children.
