MANY OF THE COMMUNITIES E-TECH SERVES ARE INDIGENOUS AND CONFRONTED BY FORMIDABLE MULTINATIONAL MINING AND ENERGY SECTOR COMPANIES. HISTORICALLY, A CONNECTION BETWEEN PROTECTING BIODIVERSITY, CONSERVING TERRESTRIAL LANDSCAPES AS CARBON SINKS AND THE RIGHTS OF THE INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES TO A SUSTAINABLE AND HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT HAS NOT BEEN ADEQUATELY CONSIDERED. E-TECH BELIEVES THAT INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES ARE BEST SUITED TO PROTECT LOCAL BIODIVERSITY.
