TO PROMOTE THE UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF THE HISTORY AND CULTURE OF THE CHEROKEE INDIANS IN EASTERN TENNESSEE, PARTICULARLY THE LIFE AND CONTRIBUTIONS OF SEQUOYAH. THE MUSEUM WILL COLLECT, PRESERVE, INTERPRET AND EXHIBIT OBJECTS AND DATA THAT SUPPORT THIS MISSION.
