THE FOUNDATION IS OPERATED EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUPPORTING THE EDUCATIONAL, RESEARCH, AND HEALTH PROMOTION ACTIVITIES OF THE HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER OF THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH (THE "UNIVERSITY"). THE UNIVERSITY IS AN INSTRUMENTALITY OF THE (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O) STATE OF UTAH GOVERNED BY A BOARD OF REGENTS APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR AND THE STATE LEGISLATURE. THE HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER INCLUDES THE UNIVERSITY'S SCHOOL OF MEDICINE; THE COLLEGES OF NURSING, PHARMACY, AND HEALTH; AND THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH HOSPITAL. MORE SPECIFICALLY, THE FOUNDATION IS PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR THE HUNTSMAN CANCER INSTITUTE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH ("UHCI"), A NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE - DESIGNATED COMPREHENSIVE CANCER CENTER.
