THE ORGANIZATION WAS FORMED TO 1) FOSTER AND PROMOTE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL AMATEUR TENNIS COMPETITION AND DEVELOP AMATEUR ATHLETES FOR THAT COMPETITION BY PROVIDING INSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT; 2) PROMOTE THE SPORT OF TENNIS TO ECONOMICALLY UNDERPRIVILEGED AND OTHER CHILDREN IN THE METROPOLITAN WASHINGTON D.C. AREA; 3) PROMOTE THE HEALTH OF RESIDENTS IN THE COMMUNITY SERVED BY THE CORPORATION BY PROVIDING INSTRUCTION, COMPETITION, AND FACILITIES THAT ENABLE MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SPORT OF TENNIS AND OTHERWISE ENGAGE IN PHYSICAL FITNESS ACTIVITIES; AND 4) ENGAGE IN ANY OTHER CHARITABLE, SCIENTIFIC AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES, WITHIN THE MEANING OF SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1986, AS AMENDED OR CORRESPONDING SECTION OF ANY FUTURE FEDERAL TAX CODE (THE "CODE"), AND REGULATIONS THEREUNDER.
