Mission
TO IMPROVE THE SKILLS, WAGES, AND WORKING CONDITIONS OF WORKERS IN THE TOURISM INDUSTRY AND TO ASSURE THAT THE BENEFITS OF TOURISM CONTRIBUTE EQUITABLY TO THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT OF ALL COMMUNITIES IN THE GREATER LOS ANGELES AREA. THE COUNCIL WILL PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO IMMIGRANT WORKERS, WHO COMPRISE MOST OF THOSE EMPLOYED IN THE HOTELS, AMUSEMENT PARKS, RESTAURANTS, RETAIL, AND OTHER SERVICE SECTORS ASSOCIATED WITH TRAVEL AND TOURISM.
