SEE SCHEDULE OTO PROVIDE SUPERLATIVE EMERGENCY MEDICINE CARE TO ALL PATIENTS SEEKING CARE, TOTALING 183,750 VISITS A YEAR, INCLUDING A VERY LARGE INDIGENT POPULATION. TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF EDUCATION IN THE THEORY AND PRACTICE OF EMERGENCY MEDICINE TO MEDICAL STUDENTS OF THE WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AND CENTRAL MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF MEDICINE AND TO THE RESIDENTS OF TWO DETROIT MEDICAL CENTER EMERGENCY MEDICINE RESIDENCY PROGRAMS. TO SUPPORT THE EXPANSION OF THE KNOWLEDGE BASE OF EMERGENCY MEDICINE THROUGH ROBUST BASIC SCIENCE AND CLINICAL RESEARCH. TO HAVE ALL PHYSICIAN EMPLOYEES OF MEDICAL CENTER EMERGENCY SERVICES SERVE AS FACULTY MEMBERS OF THE WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE. TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP ON A LOCAL, STATE AND NATIONAL LEVEL FOR CLINICAL AND ACADEMIC EMERGENCY MEDICINE.
