THE ORGANIZATION WILL CREATE AND PRESERVE THE STOCK OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN THE CENTRAL MIDLANDS REGION OF SOUTH CAROLINA THROUGH FINANCING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECTS. THE ORGANIZATION IS A REGIONAL HOUSING TRUST FUND WITH THE FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES IN KEEPING WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE WILLIAM C MESCHER LOCAL HOUSING TRUST FUND ACT. THE ORGANIZATION FOCUSES ON PROJECTS SERVING LOW TO MODERATE INCOME HOUSEHOLDS WHO STRUGGLE TO SECURE HOUSING INCLUDING PEOPLE WHO WORK AT LOW WAGE JOBS, PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND OTHER SPECIAL NEEDS. IN ADDITION, ON AUGUST 15, 2016, THE FUND WAS CERTIFIED BY THE US DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY AS A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FINANCIAL INSTITUTION (CDFI).
