The Public Health Data Lab Institute (PHDL) was founded by public health data experts and entrepreneurs to create a paradigm shift in how health data sources are used to benefit the public. PHDL's overarching purpose is to assemble comprehensive data resources, tools, and methodologies that can be used to help forecast outbreaks in communicable diseases and assist in timely responses. PHDL will also engage in thought leadership and research methodologies focused on public health issues in general, with a specific focus on the United States. In addition, PHDL will engage in efforts to support health data-related entrepreneurship and technology development.
