THE MISSION OF THE CLINIC IS TO PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE MEDICAL SERVICES, CASE MANAGEMENT, PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES, AND SUBSTANCE-ABUSE COUNSELING FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE HIV POSITIVE OR HAVE AIDS. THE CLINIC WAS TRANSFERRED CONTRACTS FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND SENIOR SERVICES AND OTHER RESOURCE PROVIDERS TO CARRY ON THE EXEMPT FUNCTION OF THE PETER HO CLINIC WHICH WAS A DIVISION OF THE ST. MICHAEL'S MEDICAL CENTER. THE EXEMPT PURPOSE OF THE CLINIC IS TO PROMOTE HEALTH IN THE CITY OF NEWARK AND SURROUNDING AREAS THROUGH DEVELOPMENT, ESTABLISHMENT, OWNERSHIP AND OPERATION OF OUTPATIENT OR AMBULATORY CARE CLINICS IN NEW JERSEY, AS PROVIDED FOR BY N.J.A.C.
