THE MISSION OF BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS OF TOPEKA (BGCT) IS TO INSPIRE AND ENABLE ALL YOUNG PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO NEED US MOST, TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL AS PRODUCTIVE, CARING, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS. BGCT PROVIDES CRITICAL OUT-OF-SCHOOL TIME PROGRAMS THAT SUPPORT ACADEMIC SUCCESS, HEALTHY LIFESTYLES, CHARACTER AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, AND WORKFORCE READINESS.IN 2024, THE ORGANIZATION SERVED 1,858 CHILDREN AND TEENS AND THEIR FAMILIES ACROSS FOUR SCHOOL DISTRICTS THROUGH TWO CLUBHOUSES, ELEVEN SCHOOL-BASED SITES, AND ONE DEDICATED TEEN CENTER FOR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. OF THOSE SERVED, 72 MEMBERS WERE IDENTIFIED AS HOMELESS, 109 WERE IN FOSTER CARE, AND 71 PERCENT OF FAMILIES LIVE AT OR BELOW THE POVERTY LEVEL.
