THE INSTITUTE'S PURPOSE IS TO ASSIST THE CHILDREN'S VILLAGE IN THE FURTHERANCE OF ITS CORPORATE PURPOSES, SUCH AS THE TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES, OPERATING PROGRAMS THAT FURTHER SUCH PURPOSES, DISSEMINATING MODEL PROGRAMS OF THE CHILDREN'S VILLAGE, TRAINING OF THE CHILDREN'S VILLAGE'S STAFF MEMBERS, CONDUCTING FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES, MAINTAINING AN ENDOWMENT FUND AND PROVIDING FINANCIAL AND OTHER FORMS OF ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT. THE CHILDREN'S VILLAGE IS THE SOLE MEMBER OF THE INSTITUTE AND ELECTS ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS. THE INSTITUTE IS EXEMPT FROM FEDERAL TAXES UNDER SECTION 501 (C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE.
