NNC WAS FOUNDED IN THE WAKE OF MAJOR FLOODING IN THE REGION, AND A SIGNIFICANT FOCUS OF ITS WORK SINCE INCEPTION HAS BEEN ON HOW TO BEST COMMUNICATE MATTERS RELATING TO WEATHER AND CLIMATE HAZARDS GENERALLY. NNC'S RESEARCH AND OUTREACH IN THIS AREA HAS BEEN DISSEMINATED NATIONWIDE.
