ESTABLISHED IN 1996 BY FORMER U.S. VICE PRESIDENT AL GORE AND FORMER SPANISH PRESIDENT JOSE MARIA AZNAR, THE COUNCIL BRINGS TOGETHER LEADERS FROM BOTH NATIONS TO PROMOTE BILATERAL TRADE AND INVESTMENT, FACILITATE POLICY DIALOGUE, AND FOSTER MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING THROUGH PROGRAMS SUCH AS THE ANNUAL U.S.-SPAIN FORUM AND THE YOUNG LEADERS PROGRAM.
