THE PURPOSE OF THE HORIZON LEAGUE IS TO PROVIDE MEMBER INSTITUTIONS WITH AN ORGANIZATION TO MAINTAIN INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS IN CONFORMITY WITH THE DIGNITY AND HIGH PURPOSE OF THE MEMBERSHIP. MEMBERS OF THE LEAGUE REGARD COMPETITIVE ATHLETICS AS A VALUABLE EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE.
