NEW ROADS SCHOOL IS AN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL IN LOS ANGELES SERVING GRADES K-12. IT WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1995 AS A MODEL FOR EDUCATION IN AN ETHNICALLY, CULTURALLY, AND SOCIO-ECONOMICALLY DIVERSE COMMUNITY. NEW ROADS RESTS UPON SEVERAL FUNDAMENTAL COMMITMENTS (SEE SCHEDULE O)(1) DEVELOPMENT OF A STUDENT POPULATION OF SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, ETHNIC, AND RACIAL DIVERSITY, (2) DEVELOPMENT OF EACH STUDENT'S FULL HUMAN POTENTIAL, (3) ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND EXCELLENCE IN THE ARTS, (4) BEHAVING RESPONSIBLY AND HONORABLY AS AN INSTITUTION, AND (5) SERVING THE LARGER ECOLOGICAL AND SOCIAL COMMUNITY.
