Founded in 1952, PRRC is a not-for-profit organization that provides recreational, vocational and educational opportunities for people with disabilities through programs and services that encourage self-expression, promote personal achievement, and lead to greater independence. The organization provides direct care to more than 1,000 adults and children with intellectual/developmental disabilities as well as traumatic/acquired brain injuries.PRRC also provides full time residential housing for up to 10 adults with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities in two separate residential homes in San Francisco.PRRC also operates a warm water therapy pool that provides a therapeutic and exercise program for more than 500 senior citizens in the community as well as a water safety and swim lessons for children between six months and twelve years old.
