Mission

Tacoma Community Boat Builders TBB creates transformational opportunities for youth in high-risk situations through hands-on learning and positive mentorship programs. We are dedicated to breaking down the barriers that inhibit marginalized youth from achieving success in their lives by offering skill-building and social emotional learning in a challenging environment where positive behaviors and problem-solving strategies are modeled by staff and volunteer craftsmen-mentors. Youth experience success in learning and relating to others as well as a sense of accomplishment as they discover their own abilities and creativity by making things and learning by doing.
