THE PURPOSE OF TEXAS NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES IS TO ADDRESS THE ISSUES OF POVERTY AMONG THE CITIZENS LIVING IN THE COUNTIES IT SERVES. POVERTY IS DEFINED BY HOUSEHOLD INCOME ACCORDING TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. TNS STRIVES TO ADDRESS THE BARRIERS TO IMPROVING HOUSEHOLD INCOME BY PROVIDING UTILITY ASSISTANCE, RENTAL ASSISTANCE AND EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE WHERE HOUSEHOLDS QUALIFY ACCORDING TO THE VARIOUS GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAMS THE ORGANIZATION ADMINISTERS.
