THE CORPORATION IS ORGANIZED EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHARITABLE, RELIGIOUS, EDUCATIONAL, AND SCIENTIFIC PURPOSES, INCLUDING THE MAKING OF DISTRIBUTIONS TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE TAX-EXEMPT UNDER INTERNAL REVENUE CODE ("CODE") SECTION 501 (C)(3), AND WITHIN THOSE LIMITED PURPOSES, TO SERVE ON A NON-PROFIT BASIS AS A REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN. ITS MISSION WILL BE TO BUILD AN EFFECTIVE PARTNERSHIP AMONG BUSINESS, EDUCATION, FOUNDATIONS AND THE PUBLIC SECTOR, PURSUE NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT, SERVE AS THE PRIMARY PRO-DEVELOPMENT ADVOCATE WITHIN SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN, AND TAKE AN ACTIVE ROLE IN ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO DEVELOP THE AREA'S HUMAN, TECHNICAL AND CAPITAL RESOURCES.
