Misión

Our mission is to preserve the ancestral genetics within the Carter Reservoir wild horse herd by DNA testing, documenting and recording them, with a goal of working with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to maintain the wild herd at healthy sustainable numbers, to educate the public, and to guide the public to view the Carter Reservoir herd without compromising public or horse safety. Study, research and record the Carter Reservoir Herd Management Area (HMA) Mustangs, building a historical foundation. Genetically test the Carter Reservoir Mustangs to continue building upon their proven Spanish-Iberian lineage. Inform the public on the value of the irreplaceable Carter Mustangs among America's wild horse herds. Develop the Carter Conservation Center (CCC) as a holding, placement, and sanctuary facility in preparation for future Carter Reservoir HMA roundups by the BLM. Offer assistance with captive and adopted Carter Reservoir Mustangs.
