To preserve and maintain the historic McDowell House, the attached apothecary shop and the surrounding grounds to seek, collect, and exhibit materials that which are appropriate while Dr. McDowell practiced from 1795-1820 and to tell of Dr. McDowells work and contributions to modern medicine.
