The mission of the Western Gate Land Development Corporation (WGLDC) is to create jobs in Wayne County, West Virginia and the Tri-State Area of West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky. The accomplishment of this mission will enhance the area business climate, facilitate continued growth of the area, diversify the local economy, expand the tax base an enhance the employment opportunities for area residents, thereby improving the overall standard of living for all citizens. WGLDC identifies these specific development initiatives as crucial components to support their mission: Market the regions to attract higher wage jobs that will support our families; Cultivate the growth of jobs through economic development initiatives; Build alliances to foster economic development and workforce strategy.
