American River Natural History
Misión
The American River Natural History Association's (ARNHA) mission is to provide educational and interpretive programs and information about the natural environment, principally in the American River Parkway. The public face of ARNHA is the Effie Yeaw Nature Center, established in 1976. Nestled in a beautiful 100-acre oak woodland along the American River just east of Sacramento, the Effie Yeaw Nature Center delivers award-winning natural science and cultural education programs to thousands of school children and families each year with qualified naturalists and trained volunteer docents. Its location within one of California's largest metropolitan areas makes it highly accessible to urban school children and a special natural resource for family recreation and environmental study. Each year, thousands of students and over 150,000 visitors participate in the Nature Center's education programs, explore the visitor center and/or enjoy the serene natural beauty of the nature preserve. The Na
