THE LOCAL'S OBJECTIVES ARE TO REPRESENT THE MEMBERSHIP IN MATTERS OF EMPLOYEE-MANAGEMENT RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE CITY OF NEW YORK; TO PROMOTE THE WELFARE OF THE MEMBERSHIP AND TO PROVIDE A VOICE IN THE DETERMINATION OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT; TO ADVOCATE AND ACHIEVE SAFE AND FAVORABLE WORKING CONDITIONS; TO PROTECT EMPLOYEE INTERESTS THROUGH COMBINED EMPLOYEE-MANAGEMENT EFFORTS TO PROMOTE PROGRAMS OF TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT; TO PROMOTE THE INTERCHANGE OF INFORMATION AMONG ITS MEMBERS SO THAT THEY BRING TO THEIR WORK A BROADER UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONTINUING PROGRESS IN ELECTRONIC DATA PROCESSING SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY; AND TO SUPPORT THE LABOR MOVEMENT IN GENERAL.
