THE FUND FOR THE CITY OF NEW YORK WAS CREATED IN 1968 BY THE FORD FOUNDATION TO BE RESPONSIVE TO OPPORTUNITIES TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE BY WORKING TO IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE OF GOVERNMENT AND NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS.
